Sometimes, things happen in ways you don’t expect.
Last year, around Earth Day, we participated in a contest organized by Allmade, the company that produces the blanks we use for our shirts. At the time, it felt like a simple opportunity to share what we believe in.
And somehow… we won.
But what makes this even more special is that this wasn’t our first time participating.
Two years ago, we entered the same contest and ended up in second place. We didn’t win the trip back then, but we did receive some of their tees. That was actually one of our first real experiences working more closely with their products, and it helped us understand the quality and intention behind what they were doing.
At the time, it felt like a small win. But looking back now, it feels like the beginning of something.
Fast forward to today, and that journey has led us here. As part of winning last year’s contest, we were invited to travel to Honduras to see, in person, how these garments are made. To visit the factories, understand the process, and meet the people behind what we’ve been working with.
So on April 27th, we’re going!

For us, this trip means a lot more than just traveling. It feels like one of those moments where things connect in a deeper way. When we started We Are Kind, the goal was always to build something that combined kindness, sustainability, and community. Not just as ideas, but as something real that people could be part of.
And clothing became one of the ways to express that.
But most of the time, we only see the final product. A t-shirt, a tote bag, something you wear in your daily life. What’s easy to forget is everything that happens before that—the materials, the people, the decisions made at every step.
That’s exactly what this trip represents. A chance to go back to the source and see the full picture.
Allmade has built its model around doing things differently in an industry that doesn’t always prioritize transparency. From using more sustainable materials like organic cotton, recycled polyester, and TENCEL™ Modal, to focusing on ethical manufacturing and better working conditions, their approach aligns closely with what we’ve always believed in.
But beyond the materials, what stands out the most is the human side of it. Because sustainability is often talked about in abstract terms—certifications, processes, numbers. And while those matter, they don’t always tell the full story. Behind every garment, there are people. People working, creating, improving, and trying to do things better in their own reality.
Being able to meet them, see where things are made, and understand their environment brings everything into perspective. It makes it real. It also reinforces something we’ve believed from the beginning: sustainability is not just a word but it’s a practice. It’s a series of decisions made by different people, across different places, all contributing to something better.
And in that sense, this trip feels like a continuation of the story we’ve been building with We Are Kind. Not a finish line, just another step forward.
We’re also excited to share this experience with you. To show more of what’s behind the products, to bring you closer to the process, and to give more context to what we talk about when we mention sustainability.
Because the more you see, the more you understand. And the more you understand, the more intentional your choices can become.
We’ll be sharing parts of the trip as it happens.
